FAQ
We try not to bombard you with too much information on our website, but these are a few of the most commonly asked questions.
What do you provide for our stay?
We provide a starter pack of basics such as toilet roll, hand soap, washing up liquid, fire lighters, kindling , logs, tea, coffee and milk. These are just to get you started and you will be expected to provide your own once these basics run out.
Does the cottage have off-road parking?
Yes, the cottage is fortunate to have a generous private parking area at the front of the house, which is big enough for two large cars.
What time can we gain access on the first day?
You can usually access the property from 4pm on your first day.
How do I get the key?
You will be given the code for the key box about one hour before check-in and will be able to let yourself in any time after 4pm. Occasionally you will be handed the key by the host at 4pm.
Is it possible to arrange a late check out on the last day?
It is not always possible to arrange a late checkout. It will depend very much on arrangements for the next set of guests and also the schedule of the cleaning staff. Checkout is strictly 10am. Your car must also be off the drive at this time.
Is the garden fully enclosed for my dog?
The garden is enclosed with a mixture of walls, fences and gates, but we cannot guarantee that it is fully dog-proof for every type and breed of dog. As we border on farm land with livestock, you must be in control of your dog at all times and not leave your dog unaccompanied in the garden.
Are dogs allowed on the beds and furniture?
We try not to have too many rules so that you can have a relaxing holiday but we expect that you will protect our beds and furniture from dog hair, stains and damage. You should bring your own dog bedding and protective throws.
Can I leave my dog in the cottage while I go out for a few hours?
Dogs are not allowed to be left in the cottage unaccompanied.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
There is a shop in the village, which stocks a good range of basics. It also has a meat counter selling local meats. The petrol station in Morfa Nefyn also has a supermarket, bakery, meat counter and cafe. A little further out, there are two supermarkets in Nefyn.
Where can I find instructions for all the appliances in the house?
There is a blue A5 folder with all the instructions. This folder also contains emergency numbers, fire safety instructions and risk assessments etc.
How do I get my deposit back at the end of the stay?
Your good housekeeping/damage deposit will be paid back after the house has been inspected after your stay. We endeavour to return your deposit within a week, hopefully within a day or two.
What do I do if I have a problem?
If you have a problem, first check the house manual to see if you can solve the problem yourself. If you can’t solve the problem, you can get in touch with the host using the details given in the house manual. Serious problems should always be communicated at the time and not left until the end of your stay. Problems can not be solved by the host if they don’t know about them.
